CALLING ALL SCHOOL-BASED CRISIS TEAMS!

When communities encounter crises, staff and students struggle to rebound and re-engage with school life. Crisis can come in all shapes and sizes, whether it includes the death of a student or staff member, a natural disaster, destruction by fire, violence, or accidental harm.

Learn how to prepare your district for the unexpected and assemble a district-wide crisis response team. Identify how neighboring districts may work collaboratively to ensure that, even in the most challenging of times, we can work together to meet the needs of our school community and help to restore psychological safety and stability following a critical event.

Training is open to all NWESD regional school districts, including private and charter school communities. Community partners who provide recovery support following a crisis are also encouraged to attend.

IMPORTANT – BEFORE REGISTERING FOR THIS TRAINING:

Participants are highly encouraged (but not required) to pair this course with the following companion course:

PREPaRE Workshop: Post-Crisis Psychological Response (May 16-17), which will provide your SMART crisis response team with an evidence-based curriculum for responding to the psychological recovery needs of staff and students.

Participants who register for both trainings (Developing School Mobilization Assistance Response Teams (SMART) and the PREPaRE Workshop) will receive a bundle discount on their registration cost.
