Description
Think Fun! Think STEM! Think Outdoor Classroom. Where Science and Technology come together with Vegetation Surveys in our own Wenatchee Foothills. Get out and get to know our common native and non-native plants while gathering data to inform work after fires. Additional tips on taking students outside to learn and be safe. Instructors include: Kristen Bates, NCESD, Susan Ballinger, Chelan-Douglas Land Trust, and Julie Sanderson, Chelan County Weed Board.
Be prepared to go outside in any weather rain, shine, hot, or cold. Dressing in layers and including good hiking or walking shoes, sunglasses, hats, sunscreen, long pants, a light backpack, and water bottle are all GREAT ways to ensure you have fun in the foothills and learn the model to show your students. Don’t forget to bring your lunch and smart phones or tablets.
