Description

Explore the arts!

Arts Impact is a nationally known professional development for PreK-5th grade classroom teachers and specialists. The first year of the two-year program (Arts Foundations) is where you will learn the foundational arts skills and concepts in Dance, Theater, and Visual Arts. We will also address assessing the arts, differentiating art learning across grade levels, and classroom management techniques. The grounding you receive in Arts Foundations will lead the way to deep connections across the curriculum in year two (Arts Infusion), when we will explore arts infused with CCSS Math, English Language Arts, and Next Generation Science Standards. Arts Impact is committed to building key 21st century skills for both teachers and students that include creative and critical thinking, collaboration, communication, growth mindset, and perseverance, all vital to closing the opportunity gap.

The 5-day Summer Institute will help you develop the confidence and competence to infuse the arts into other core classroom curricula as well as turning STEM into STEAM. Learn research proven strategies that will increase student achievement in all core subject areas. No prior arts experience needed. Minimum of three (3) teachers per school must be enrolled.*

The Summer Institute is followed with a one-on-one classroom mentorship with an artist. (Required...register for the mentorship separately using class #84016. Or use the link found on the Arts Impact website.) Clock hours or SPU credit available.

*Discounts available for whole school training.
