Participants will read the Patterns of Power book, then will meet to discuss the ideas presented in the book.  Participants will create a grade level list of "non-negotiables" for writing conventions.  The "non-negotiable" list will be shared, reviewed, and possibly edited in vertical teams.  Participants will choose lessons from the second section of the book to commit to teaching and this list will be shared, reviewed and possibly edited in vertical teams.
