Learn how to manage screen time during this presentation by international expert on children and media, Dr. Dimitri Christakis. While he will share the sobering evidence of what screen time does to the brain, it's not going to be an anti-screen presentation. His positive message of prevention will include when and how to get full benefit of screen time.
About the Presenter:
Dr. Christakis is the George Adkins Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Washington, Director of the Center for Child Health, Behavior and Development at Seattle Children's Hospital Research Institute, and an attending pediatrician at Children's Hospital in Seattle. He is the author of over 200 original research articles and a textbook of Pediatrics. He is also the author of The Elephant in the Living Room: Make Television work for your kids. (September 2006; Rodale) Dr. Christakis is an international expert on children and media. His research focuses on the effects of media on child health and development and has been featured on 60 minutes, Anderson Cooper 360, the Today Show, ABC, NBC, and CBS news as well as all major national and international newspapers. He speaks frequently to national and international audiences of pediatricians, parents, and educators about the effects of media on children of all ages.
