Description

Flipped (or virtual) Internships are a key way to integrate career exploration into students career pathways. The Flipped Internship program partners classroom teachers directly with businesses in their community to present students enrolled in a CTE course (or equivalent) an authentic industry-based problem to solve via teamwork, critical thinking, application of STEM skills and project management. In this session, teachers will be introduced to the Flipped Internship model, review and adapt proposed problem-based units of study aligned to one or more CTE frameworks, NGSS and CCSS - along with 21st Century Skills,  and receive coaching on delivering PBL and case study instruction and assessment. Teachers who complete this course will be approved to apply to host a Flipped Internship in their course.

Note: this course is only open to high school teachers in qualified CTE courses, or equivalent. Not all courses will have an immediate opening for a Flipped Internship, however, teachers are encouraged to attend to co-develop regional growth plans.
