Description

Species and Ecosystems at ESD 113 -

How is our changing climate impacting our local flora and fauna? How do key species adapt to changes in their ecosystems? How can humans protect habitats from environmental degradation? Join Washington Green Schools and ESD 113 to explore current research and make connections to local climate-related phenomena while engaging the Next Generation Science Standards and their Science and Engineering Practices. During the second half of the day, teachers will have time to plan activities that will bring climate science learning into their classroom.


Coastal Hazards at The Rotary Log House in Aberdeen -

Are waves, storms, and floods our new normal? How is climate change is affecting our coastal communities? Coastal hazards, like sea level rise, erosion and degradation of the environment, threaten Washington's coastline. Join Washington Green Schools and ESD 113 to learn about coastal hazards and how you can integrate both local science and the Next Generation Science Standards and their Science and Engineering Practices into your classroom. During the second half of the day, teachers will have time to plan activities that will bring climate science learning into their classroom. 

 

Floods and Droughts at The Bethel Church in Chehalis -

Are floods, droughts, and extreme weather our new normal? How is climate change affecting our local communities? What are the local learning opportunities for students around how climate impacts them? Join Washington Green Schools and ESD 113 to explore current research and make connections to local climate-related phenomena while engaging the Next Generation Science Standards and their Science and Engineering Practices. During the second half of the day, teachers will have time to plan activities that will bring climate science learning into their classroom.

2. November 19th at the Rotary Log Cabin in Aberdeen

3. March 4th at the Bethel Church in Chehalis
