The Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) invites you to join their staff for a presentation on educational stability for students in foster care. Peggy Carlson, OSPI Foster Care Program Supervisor will provide an overview of federal and state law as well as the foster care liaison program. This presentation will include information on maintaining students in school of origin, best interest determinations, immediate enrollment, data sharing and best ways to collaborate with DCYF caseworkers. We will also share the newest data related to assessments, discipline and graduation rates for students in foster care. This is a great opportunity to meet with neighboring district foster care liaisons as well as OSPI & DCYF staff.
