Description
This General Anti-Bias Teacher Training (GAB) provides teachers, administrators, staff, and community members with the knowledge, awareness, and skills to respond to prejudice and discrimination. This workshop engages participants in interactive activities and provides opportunities to practice skills to create equitable and safe school environments.
We invite educators to join us as we participate in a collection of anti-bias lessons that can be used with colleagues or students. During this INTERACTIVE webinar, we will model lessons and practice reflection and dialogue that is grounded in research-based anti-bias education; we will end by sharing on-line resources for all ages that support reflection on diversity, identity and anti-bias education. We will share a variety of ways you can engage your students by using a small collection of ADL resources that are potentially friendly in your Google classrooms, Zoom calls, and more. Anti-bias education and social and emotional learning intersect in a variety of ways, including: intra-and interpersonal relationship skills, social awareness and empathy, and responsible decision-making. As we set to return to a classroom different than years past, consider launching with these meaningful and effective ways to help students navigate conversations about diversity and identity while considering strategies that are aligned to the CASEL competencies for SEL. These resources will work not only for this year, but can support your launch into being a No Place for Hate school next year! We hope to see you there!
