Description
This 3-day workshop prepares MS science, and technology teachers to implement Code.org/Project GUTS (Growing Up Thinking Scientifically) CS in Science curricular modules: Introduction to Computer Modeling, and Ecosystems as Complex Systems. Computer Science in Science modules support the NGSS Science and Engineering Practices, Crosscutting Concepts and several Disciplinary Core Ideas. Participants will be provided with all curriculum and materials to deliver the module in their classrooms.
Event Notes
At this time, Starlogo Nova is not compatible with iPads. Teachers will need to bring a laptop or chromebook to the workshop. In addition, teachers will need to create a free account at www.slnova.org before the first workshop day.
