Description

Junior Solar Sprint (JSS) is a free educational program for 5th through 8th grade students where students design, build and race solar powered cars using hands-on engineering skills and principles of science and math. Students develop teamwork and problem solving abilities, investigate environmental issues, and gain hands-on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) skills to create the fastest, most interesting, and best crafted vehicle possible.

Teachers and other school staff are invited to come to this training where we will offer strategic planning on how to implement the solar sprint lessons into your classroom or after-school program and aid in the building of model sprint cars. One lucky team member will get to take home the car that you build (the solar panel and motor can be re-used for experiments and building additional cars for the competition). All Team Members will receive sample curricula and educational materials to energize your students. We will also be giving away 2 classroom sets (5 cars in each set) to teachers that are interested in implementing JSS in the 16-17 school year.
