This course will be held in the Lake Chelan School District at Morgen Owings Elementary School.

This course provides National Board Certification Facilitation beginning in September and continuing through May.  The professional development delivered to candidates during monthly workshops is centered on improving teaching practices through reflection and identifying strengths and weaknesses for both students and self.  This course also focuses on best practices and research.

We will focus on National Standards for what accomplished teachers should know and be able to do.  We will also focus on the Five Core Propositions.

Proposition 2: Teachers Know the Subjects They Teach and How to Teach Those Subjects to Students

Proposition 3:  Teachers Are Responsible for Managing and Monitoring Student Learning

Proposition 4: Teachers Think Systematically About Their Practice and Learn from Experience

Proposition 5: Teachers Are Members of Learning Communities
