Presenters

Description

In this interactive, cooperative workshop participants will learn about the unique needs of ELLs on IEPs and best practices for determining and meeting those needs.  We will explore differences and similarities between students who are learning English and those who have learning disabilities and ways to differentiate between them.  We will examine best practices in assessment and instruction, including linguistic, cognitive, and sociocultural factors.  We will relate observable behaviors to possible explanations in either a language-learning or a special-education context.
