TechStart Virtual Reality Teacher Training
TechStart Virtual Reality Teacher Training
Administered by NCESD
Description
Your district has applied for and been awarded free Oculus VR hardware and software from TechStart to promote Computer Science in your High School
Every student and teacher should have the chance to explore the world of computer science. TechStart offers high schools cutting-edge technology and expertise from Facebook, with the mission to inspire and support the next generation of tech leaders. At TechStart, it all starts with you!
TechStart, a Facebook education initiative in collaboration with high schools, helps students explore computer science through technology. Students’ curiosity for computer science is sparked through virtual reality technology. Students become ‘technology creators’ as they engage in project-based experiences.
TechStart has developed a comprehensive training program to enable teachers to successfully guide and support the integration of virtual reality technology into their high school classes. In addition, TechStart has developed a comprehensive recognition program that acknowledges and showcases student accomplishments.
TechStart, in partnership with NCESD, is excited to announce the training session for teachers selected to lead this initiative at their schools.
This training is offered at no cost to the districts participating in the TechStart Program. These districts will also receive $200 to help with related costs (i.e. substitutes, travel). Clock hours will be provided without cost from OSPI.
Event Notes
A training agenda and a list of materials for teachers to bring to the training will be provided once the teacher has registered.
