Description
Join us for this 3-day course that prepares you to integrate computational thinking and computer science activities across the curriculum and discover concrete ways to engage students in this common practice in math and science. You’ll become comfortable with basic computer science concepts and free tools while you learn about computational thinking and computer science pedagogy. The course includes time for you to plan lessons and integrate these new concepts into your existing curriculum--you don’t need to add to your already full plate, but you can spice up what’s already there!
This course is suitable for K-5 teachers. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! Our instructors will begin at the beginning and meet you at your level. Each participant will receive a Micro:bit, a MakeyMakey, and an Ozobot Bit to use in the classroom, with the opportunity to check out classroom kits of similar items via our STEM Resource Center. Registration fee includes lunch and 18 STEM clock hours.
