Description
This pilot is focused on earning a micro-credential: Introduction to Culturally Responsive Social and Emotional Learning (SEL). Using OSPI's SEL Education Modules, this program will focus on resources and competencies related to the guiding principles of social emotional learning with a special focus on cultural responsiveness.
As part of this online program, you will have the opportunity to earn the first PESB micro-credential designed for SEL.
You will also:
- Gain access to professional learning resources related to the SEL Program.
- Engage in asynchronous collaborative discussion with other program participants.
- Connect with a facilitator for support as you work towards earning your micro-credential.
Upon completion, you will submit your micro-credential application and an expert reviewer will review the uploaded evidence, approve or deny the submission, and provide feedback. If you are unsuccessful in your attempt, you will receive constructive feedback from the reviewer and will be encouraged to resubmit. When you successfully earn your Social Emotional Learning micro-credential, you will receive a digital badge and earn professional development hours for your efforts.
To ensure the micro-credential is associated with the correct educator profile in the eCert system, upon successful completion of the micro-credential Bloomboard will be given your certificate number. If you have questions or concerns about this, please contact Angela Wageman at awageman@oesd114.org.
Event Notes
A $100 stipend is being offered to teachers who earn the micro-credential, to honor the work of the pilot project. This is made possible by our partners at BloomBoard who are providing the platform for the micro-credential. The stipend will be a direct exchange between the participant and Bloomboard.
