Description

Our phenology activity will start a years’ long citizen science project.

Students will be taken to specific plants where they will record the date, and various

seasonal expressions of plants including whether the plant is budding, flowering,

fruiting/seeding, dormant, etc. By amassing this data over successive seasons, a

visual will be created that may show indications of climate change (or not)! This workshop session will outline our project and purposes here at Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge, while encouraging teachers (and outlining HOW) to set up their own schoolyard phenology projects.
