Description

STEM in Action: Making a Mars Lander

Designing a mission to Mars requires creativity, scientific reasoning, engineering solutions and even a little bit of luck. Join Pacific Science Center in their portable planetarium and mobile Tinker Tank in this hands-on workshop where you can plan, design, and test solutions to the many challenges of a mission to Mars. Using simple materials, the activities can be replicated in your classroom.

This workshop will be targeted at teachers of Grades 6-12, but all are welcome!

Program Objectives:

1. Gain experience with classroom-ready resources and activities around Mars Missions.

2. Connect workshop activities to NGSS standards, specifically integrating science content with engineering practices
