This is an approved course that meets the requirement for a continuing certificate or the professional certificate (WAC 181-79A-221) for School Counselors, Psychologists, Nurses, and Social Workers. Note for school nurses: it will NOT meet RN certification requirements. 

Suicide is the second leading cause of death among youth age 11– 18. Participants will be empowered to recognize youth in need and respond to those seeking help. This training will dispel common myths surrounding suicide, provide facts about risk factors and warning signs, engage trusted adults in suicide prevention and responses, describe the Signs of Suicide student program, and provide resources for those seeking help.
