Description
The College and Career Leadership Institute is a year long professional development course for high school staff. Each high school team consists of at least one administrator, one core content teacher, one school counselor and one college and career specialist or counselor (school teams may add additional staff members as it makes sense for their context). School teams will participate in the following as part of the course:
- Review and use college and career student outcome data for planning and progress monitoring
- Administer and use student survey about college and career
- Map their college and career curriculum and gap analysis
- Plan professional development for their school staff relating to college and career readiness
- Develop and execute an action plan including targets for student outcomes
- Develop and execute an action plan for integrating at least one key college and career readiness milestone into the school day
- Engage in a continuous improvement process to evaluate the effectiveness of the strategies being implemented in the action plan
- Solicit student feedback in strategies being implemented
- Adapt and improve plan and strategies in response to feedback
