Description
This is an asynchronous course that is part of the AESD Inclusionary Practices Project (IPP). It is one of 12 modules that will be offered this year as a part of this project. You are welcome to take this course asynchronously, however, there will also be synchronous courses available if that is better for your learning preference.
In this module, Introduction to Universal Design for Learning (UDL), participants will develop an understanding of the UDL framework, principles, and guidelines. In addition, participants will learn about three networks of the brain, how they are connected to learning, and how they provide the basis for the UDL framework. We will explore the role of the brain in the “Why, What, and How” of learning, and how UDL practices can support all learners. Participants will take a deep dive into the UDL guidelines to gain a deeper understanding of what UDL strategies look like in practice, and how they support students in becoming expert learners. This module will provide leadership teams with an understanding of these concepts, and opportunities to collaborate with fellow participants.
Event Notes
This is an asynchronous training through zoom to be complete at your own pace.
