Description
Over the course of four days, participants will have the opportunity to increase their knowledge of the Danielson Instructional Framework by applying the framework and rubric in a formative process. By the end of this stage, participants will have the capacity to:
- Increase the depth of knowledge of the Framework for Teaching through analysis and application of the domains and components.
- Know and understand the Framework for Teaching as a tool for observing effective and equitable teaching practices and promoting professional learning.
- Understand and apply the Collaborative Observation Process using case studies.
- Understand and apply the principles of learning focused conversations to planning and reflection conferences.
- Deeper understanding and experience with student engagement.
- Explore and build equity understanding using a protocol.
- Examine equity and gender-inclusive schools
- Understand how the Framework for Teaching aligns with teaching practices for
- MultiLingual Learners
- Special Education
- Review the Washington TPEP Summative Evaluation Process.
Intended Audience: Principals, Assistant Principals, and central office staff who evaluate teachers under the TPEP evaluation system.
Event Notes
You will need to have a print copy of The Framework for Teaching Evaluation Instrument by Charlotte Danielson. The official 2011 version is available for free download from the OSPI website or for purchase as a hard copy online. You may use the 2013 version, but readings and documents in the training sessions use the 2011 version.
