Description

Did you know that 90% of the world's data has been created in the last two years? (Marr, 2018)  Everywhere we look data is telling us stories about our world.  We need a common understanding of Data Science including what should be taught and how digging into data can be easily embedded into Washington State Learning Standards.  We will begin exploring some learning experiences focused on Data Science within the K-2 grade band.

If we want to empower students to be critical consumers in our data-driven world they will need to have experiencs with relevant data embedded in their learning!  Join us as we examine the important ideas of Number Sense and Data Exploration in math tasks highlighting strategies for distance and in-person learning.
