The GAFE Certification Boot Camps, powered by DigitalBug, will guide  you through the fundamentals of using GAFE in the classroom. Our Certification Boot Camps are led by Google Certified Trainers that will help you gain the knowledge and understanding of how to use Google tools in the classroom while preparing to successfully gain certification. 

Gear up to become a Level 1 Google Certified Educator. In this workshop we’ll explore the core areas of Google Apps for Education to increase professional learning and leadership; efficiency in the classroom; and student learning and creativity. We’ll explore several themes in the Level 1 units; including creating a paperless classroom, educator and student organization of online work, and ways to measure student growth. In addition, we’ll elaborate on critical student skill sets of working in an online environment and digital citizenship. As an educator we’ll also explore creating effective lesson plans, using media, and facilitating online group work within the Google Apps suite (and beyond). Completion of this day will prepare you to take the Google Certified Educator Level 1 exam.

Prerequisites: A basic understanding of Google Apps for Education including Drive, Documents, Sheets, Slides and Chrome. This is a next level course designed to prepare participants for the Level 1 certification exam and is not intended to be a beginners guide to GAFE. 

Users need their own Google Apps for Education account to participate. This is a next-level technical course,users should be comfortable with using Google Apps and familiar with the basics of the user experience to be successful. Users may bring a laptop or Chromebook if they prefer.

The exam will not be taken as part of the Boot Camp.
