FAKE NEWS!: Technology Tools for Teaching Media Literacy
FAKE NEWS!: Technology Tools for Teaching Media Literacy
Presenters
- Katherine Livick
Description
Students today are exposed to more media than ever before. They’re influenced by strangers, targeted for advertising, and told what to believe about themselves and the world--sometimes so subtly that they can’t even tell they’re getting unreliable information. How do they know what’s fake and what’s real? Not just for librarians - students need to apply critical thinking skills to material in every subject area, and this class will give you the tools. Teachers will leave with online resources and technology-enhanced lesson frameworks adaptable to teaching media literacy in their subject area in grades 4-10.
Event Notes
