Description
In 2014-15, 16% of students were chronically absent in Washington state, the second highest chronic absenteesim rate in the nation (based on 15 days).
In collaboration with OSPI, teams will review current research, data, and policy regarding chronic absenteeism. Participants will explore the best practices for attendance through a multi-tiered system which includes peer sharing and implementation planning.
Participants will learn:
- How to identify and use data to understand attendance and chronic absenteeism
- How policy changes support strategies for school improvement”
- Effective Tier 1 strategies to improve student attendance
Lunch and clock hours will be provided.
