Early educators watch children all the time but we often forget the power of planned observations. Observation is a form of authentic assessment and allows us to learn about ourselves as teachers and the children we work with.
Strong observation skills can give us a wide range of information, including:
- Determining the needs of individual children or group
- assessing children’s skills & abilities
- supporting your teaching
In this class you will learn:
- how to design and use different types of observations
- the importance of staying objective
- how observation can guide your practice
- how to develop curriculum off your observations
