The Early Learning Numeracy professional development modules focus on teachers of PreK – Kindergarten. The three modules are aligned to the Learning Pathways in Numeracy created by OSPI in 2014. They cover the domains of Counting and Cardinality, Operations of Addition and Subtraction, and Geometry.

In the Operations and Algebraic Thinking module, participants develop an understanding of how children connect different meanings, interpretations and relationships with the operations of addition and subtraction.  Participants will study how children progress in their algebraic understanding along a learning trajectory through an immersion into the Learning Pathways of Numeracy document.  Through interactive hands on activities, participants will gain resources that can be implemented in the classroom to develop a child’s algebraic thinking.  

Through the geometry module, participants will explore the early learning pathways for geometry and develop a deeper knowledge of how children progress in their understanding of geometry and spatial sense. Participants will engage in hands on activities that can be easily replicated in the classroom to further develop students' understanding of geometric concepts.
