Description

This foundational workshop is designed to provide participants with the skills and

knowledge to design, assess and manage rigorous, relevant, standards-based

project-based learning units. The 2-day summer intensive workshop is a balance

of direct instruction, video analysis, hands-on work, resource sharing and peer

collaboration and review. Participants are actively engaged in project design,

with the expectation that every teacher or teaching team will develop or adapt

a project plan that is ready to implement in the fall of 2018. The fall extension is

a 1-day workshop that will allow teaching teams to receive formative feedback

on project implementation and further their experience with assessment and

management. During project implementation, each team that attends will receive

8 additional hours of embedded coaching by ESD112 staff that can be allocated

to best meet the team’s needs. At the completion of all Institute requirements,

teams will receive 29 STEM Clock Hours. Lunch, all materials and the registration of 1 Administrator are included in the team cost.
