Description

In this workshop, teachers will learn about a new science unit “Is the Pacific Northwest a Safe Place to Live” and ways to enhance STEM and NGSS alignment through the activities in this unit. In addition to an overview of the kit, teachers will be introduced to the mechanics of using their science kit, with a focus on using the equipment to support student learning. Demonstration lessons, opportunities to setup investigations and manage kit logistics will be provided.. This unit explores Performance Expectations MS- ESS3-2, ESS2-3 and ETS1-4 and uses materials from the second half of the Catastrophic Events kit.
