OSPI states that paraeducators who wish to work in special education programs must meet the core competencies for special education. This course meets the first six of those fourteen competencies.

This class is good for beginning paraeducators as well as for the more experienced paraeducators who want to brush up on topics such as ethical issues, roles and responsibilities, human development, communication, and discipline. This course takes approximately 4 hours to complete.
