Description

nPower Teachers is a STEM teacher externship that partners with regional businesses to learn from professionals about the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their industry. In December we will visit the Bonneville Environmental Fund, and several of their partners to learn about careers in green technology and entrepreneurial nonprofits, including how climate science is increasing the need for more solutions in sustainable energy. Teachers visit the business for half a day, and spend the second half developing career-connected classroom activities to engage their students in STEM and career awareness. Protocols for the development of career-connected learning tasks will be shared.

  • Substitute costs to the first 25 teachers registered will be reimbursed.

  • Please note the location of this workshop is Bonneville Environmental Fund in Portland, OR (morning session) and the afternoon session will meet at ESD112.

  • Exact location will be emailed before workshop.

  • An hour is provided for lunch, on  your own.
