The ParaPro Assessment measures the skills and knowledge in reading, writing and math possessed by prospective and practicing paraprofessionals. It also measures their ability to apply those skills and knowledge when assisting in classroom instruction. The test has 90 multiple-choice questions, approximately two-thirds of which focus on basic skills and knowledge. The remaining one-third focus on applying skills in the classroom. All test questions are in English and delivered on computer.

The NWESD offers one testing day each month at the Anacortes site. All test times are from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Please note that space is limited to four participants at this time. Participants must pre-register to obtain a spot - no registrations will be accepted on-site the day of testing and there is no waitlist. A password is required to register - please contact Kristi for more information on registration and to obtain the password.

Note: A cancellation fee of $20 will be charged for any canceled registration. Any cancellations made within 48 hours of test date will not receive a refund. Please note that you can transfer to a new test date by contacting Kristi (no cancellation fee will be charged for transfers).

COVID: Due to COVID restrictions, ETS is offering the Paraprofessional Assessment test remotely through ProProctor. If you would like to research taking the test remotely, please visit the website (https://www.prometric.com/ParaPro). Please review the information carefully as there are restrictions to taking the test remotely. This process is separate from NWESD and all scheduling, payment, cancellations, and rescheduling are handled directly through this website.

Once you have registered, paid your fee, and are verified in our system, you will receive a test prep package via email. The test prep packet will include links to ETS ParaPro Assessment's website where you will find example tests and other materials to prepare you for taking the test. You will also receive instructions on what to do on the day of your test.
