Description

During this 5-hour Canvas course, we will explore how Desmos, a powerful site that houses not only an amazing online calculator platform, but also a mathematical activity builder, can be used to introduce concepts, strengthen or build connections between representations, and check for understanding within math class...even in a virtual setting. In addition to engaging in one of the classroom activities, you will engage in mathematically productive instructional routines, explore other pre-made activities, and learn how to access hundreds more--you may even learn to build your own!

Come develop an understanding of how to provide entry into content while we strengthen not only the Standards of Mathematical Practice, but also dabble in the Science and Engineering Practices.

Let's find out how the thinking that we incorporate throughout this session will help us prepare our students for the skills needed to be career and college ready in the 21st century.

NOTE: This session is virtually interactive!  It is best experienced on a computer. This event is not well suited for a phone.

Event Notes

OSPI worked closely with the nine ESDs to develop content-specific online learning for educators during Long-Term School Closure (LTSC).  This course is a result of that collaboration.
