Description
A day-long workshop for school administrators, safety personnel, counselors, & others addressing how schools can promote resilience and help students feel safe and connected.
Topics covered will include:
- Describe the changes that occur in the emotional, social, motivational, memory, appraisal, and reward systems in adolescent development
- Utilize brain-wise strategies to help students feel safe and connected;
- Understand different types of integration that inform healthy social and emotional development;
- Be intentional about creating interactions that help how adolescent’s brains are wired and therefore function;
- Teach teens about their own brains so they can have additional tools for self-regulation and to make better decisions;
- Identify how self-reflection, presence, and making sense of our own experiences can model balance and integration for the youth in our lives;
- Provide teens tools to better manage their own struggles so they can be less reactive and more resilient.
