CEL Instructional Framework / Stage 1
Intended Audience: Principals and assistant principals from any school district who evaluate teachers under the new evaluation system who did not attend the 2-day overview previously. Those who evaluate teachers must have this professional development as indicated in ESSB 5895.
Required training for new principals, assistant principals, and those who have changed frameworks:
- Stage I: 2 days
- Stage II: 4 days
NOTE: These sessions will be in-person or via Zoom, depending on current Department of Health guidelines and regulations.
Event Notes
For fall 2020, each day of training includes approximately 3-hours of independent reading and reflection and a 3-hour live/virtual session, 8:30 – 11:30. The live sessions will include discussion and various learning engagement strategies about the 5 dimensions and 13 sub-dimensions of Teaching and Learning. The intended audience is principals, assistant principals, and central office staff who evaluate teachers under the TPEP evaluation system and are new to the framework as an evaluator.
