Welcome to the 2017-2018 School Year!  You are invited to attend our Teaching and Learning Network meetings.  NOTE: Dates have changed for winter and spring.

Again, this year, our Teaching and Learning Network Meetings are going to take a thematic approach.

October 5, 2017

9 am – 12 pm

“Grow your own” community teachers in Rural Districts

The first meeting on October 5 will center on a “grow your own” approach to recruitment and support of highly qualified teachers specifically in rural areas.  

Our theory of action is: if we promote our local community members from high school students to early career professionals (paras, 1st and 2nd year teachers), we will increase the likelihood of retention and they will more closely mirror our populations. To that end we have invited CTE (for high school programs), 2- and 4-year colleges and our own staff (BEST, etc) to discuss ways to partner and promote the collective theory of action aim.

If you are interested in a regional approach to supporting teacher pathways this meeting is for you!

We are also going to do some planning around our second meeting that will focus on equity and para support/training.
