A day-long workshop for school administrators, safety personnel, counselors, & others addressing how schools can promote resilience and help students feel safe and connected.
Topics covered will include:
- The changing teen brain and how it impacts behavior and emotion.
- Understanding the role of experience and focused attention on the ever-developing brain.
- Applying the framework of interpersonal neurobiology to adolescent development.
- Providing educators with tools to help students learn about their own brains so they can improve self-regulation and make better decisions.
- Learning strategies to help adolescents move from reactivity to resilience.
- Approaches to laying the groundwork for promoting integration and mental health in our schools and communities.
- Promoting student ownership, attachment, responsibility and input into school life.
