Description

Stop the Bleed primary objective is to recognize and control life threatening hemorrhage.  Focus will be on stop the bleeding using compression/ direct pressure or wound packing/ tourniquet. This training will have lecture and hands-on skills demonstration. 

Narcan training- will focus on preventing and addressing opioid overdose. 

Topics covered will include: 

  • what opioids are
  • what happens physiologically during an opioid overdose
  • how to identify an opioid overdose
  • how to respond quickly and efficiently, including the use of naloxone (Narcan)—the opioid overdose antidote.
