Description
eVAL 2.0 / TPEP Crosswalk
This three hour course introduces eVAL 2.0, a free online tool that promotes professional growth conversations among teachers, principals, and their evaluators. Available to everyone in Washington State, eVAL 2.0 is centered on the Teacher/Principal Evaluation Program and aims to rally users to productive conversations that lead to consistent professional growth.
In the introductory course, attendees will learn how to access eVAL 2.0 and navigate through its features. eVAL 2.0 includes many features based on input from multiple organizations around the state of Washington. This introductory session will introduce features that districts incorporate when beginning to utilize eVAL 2.0 for following formal and informal observations of teacher practice, including:
How to perform a self-assessment to establish a baseline for learning
How to upload artifacts of professional practice, such as lesson plans, tools, and resources
How to establish growth goals (as designated in TPEP Criteria 3, 6, and 8)
How to understand the rubric language associated with your district’s Instructional Framework
How to begin and maintain productive conversations with your evaluator, using eVAL 2.0 as a starting point
By the end of the introductory course, attendees will be able to navigate through the basic menu system of eVAL 2.0, perform multiple functions related to the eight TPEP Criteria, and understand how eVAL 2.0 can help launch productive evaluator/evaluatee conversations.
For a head-start on eVAL 2.0, an online “Sandbox” is available for employees in every district in Washington State. The Sandbox resets every night, and is separated from the district’s official eVAL account, so users can “play” in the Sandbox in various roles, from district administrator to principal to teacher, and not harm “real” district data. The Sandbox is populated with some generic data as a starting point. The URL is http://sandbox.eval-wa.org
