Description

LEGO Robotics is an approachable and versatile STEM+CS platform, and STEM Robotics 101 has free, customizable, turn-key curriculum for teaching all aspects of STEM+CS through the LEGO MINDSTORMS kit. STEM Robotics 101 curriculum has an OSPI-approved framework aligned with Common Core Math/ELA, NGSS, WA Computer Science standards, & FIRST LEGO League. Also, STEM Robotics 101 Professional Development is OSPI-approved as 12 STEM clock hours for certification renewal.

ESD 123 is utilizing funds from OSPI’s Computer Science Education Grant to maximize the impact of this event… each teacher who attends the training will receive a LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 robot kit, courtesy of ESD 123!

The registration fee for the 2-day STEM Robotics 101 Introductory PD is $395, however partial scholarships are available for teachers impacting high underrepresented student populations. Demographic information is requested during registration to determine a school’s Tier for Robo101. Tier 1 teachers pay a net $195 registration and Tier 2 teachers $295 (See Financial Support FAQ below).

NOTE: If your school receives an OPSI FIRST iGrant for FLL, FTC, or FRC, these funds may be used for registration fees and substitute reimbursement (i.e. this PD is an eligible grant expenditure)
