Description

Over the course of four days, participants will have the opportunity to increase their knowledge of the Danielson Instructional Framework by applying the framework and rubric in a formative process. By the end of this stage, participants will have the capacity to:

  • Increase the depth of knowledge of the Framework for Teaching through analysis and application of the domains and components.
  • Know and understand the Framework for Teaching as a tool for observing effective and equitable teaching practices and promoting professional learning.
  • Understand and apply the Collaborative Observation Process using case studies.
  • Understand and apply the principles of learning focused conversations to planning and reflection conferences.
  • Deeper understanding and experience with student engagement.
  • Explore and build equity understanding using a protocol.
  • Examine equity and gender-inclusive schools
  • Understand how the Framework for Teaching aligns with teaching practices for
    1. MultiLingual Learners
    2. Special Education
  • Review the Washington TPEP Summative Evaluation Process.

Intended Audience: Principals, Assistant Principals, and central office staff who evaluate teachers under the TPEP evaluation system.

Event Notes

To be considered fully trained, administrators need to participate in ALL two days of Stage I and four days of Stage II for a total of SIX days

 

All readings and handouts will be sent to you as email attachments a few days before the session.  

There will be about 2 hours of independent work to do for each training day -  a combination of reading and watching videos - some done in advance to prepare for each day’s session, and some assigned during the break between same day sessions.   Each day will follow this schedule:  Synchronous online work from 8:30-10:30ish am; asynchronous work and lunch from 10:30ish am to 1:30 pm; Synchronous online work from 1:30-3:30 pm for a total of 6 hours per day.
