Description

The theme of this year’s NCESD Fall Librarians Workshop is INQUIRY:

  • New WA State Social Studies Standards being released Sept 17 are focused on the Inquiry Design Model
  • Science standards are focused on Inquiry
  • Taking Makerspaces to the next level by challenging students through inquiry = Makerspace challenges

Learn about new resources to support the new Social Studies standards including Stourwater Pictures - an award-winning production company (All attendees will receive a DVD of their honor-winning Honor & Sacrifice about Japanese Americans during WWII which includes free and downloadable curriculum for their library.)

Event Notes

Besides a wide variety of resources and strategies, some the things that attendees at our Fall workshop will receive are:

  • A DVD from Stourwater Pictures (a PNW award-winning production company) of their honor-winning documentary,  Honor & Sacrifice,  about Japanese Americans during WWII which includes free and downloadable curriculum
  • Book lists and a book talk from Permabound rep, Patti Tjomsland
  • Lunch
