Cracking the Code: Addressing Severe and Complex Behavioral Challenges
Presenters
- Flint Simonson
Description
Increasingly, teachers are educating students who are more different than similar. Addressing challenging behaviors in the classroom is more complex than ever before. Addresses of trauma, mental health conditions, and disability(among others)complicate management. While universal classroom management strategies are effective for most students, some students require a different approach. This training session will provide a robust toolbox of alternative strategies and a framework for understanding and differentiating behavior management for students who are not responding to universal classroom management. General and special education and related support staff will have the opportunity to practice and plan with individual student problem solving using case examples brought by participants.
