RCW 28a.405.120 requires that all school staff who evaluate certificated classroom teachers undergo training in the evaluation procedures and framework. Upon completion of Stage I, Days 1 & 2, you will have met the first part of this legal requirement in order to begin evaluating certificated classroom staff in districts which have adopted the Marzano Instructional Framework. In order to fully meet the requirements of the law, you will also need to complete Stage II framework training.  

Over the course of four days, participants will work collaboratively to increase their knowledge around the Marzano Instructional Framework to best meet the needs of their district. This will include:

• Building on previous knowledge of 8 WA State Teacher Criteria
• Applying framework language to observation and analysis of teaching practice
• Developing skills for providing formative feedback grounded in framework language
• Exploring systems of comprehensive support for improving teacher growth and development
