Participants will leave the session with a general depth of knowledge in the structure of the Next Generation Science Standards, the connection between NGSS and the common core state standards, and the key conceptual shifts in NGSS and the rationale behind them. This session will also focus on implementing the standards with an emphasis on authentic standards-aligned experiences and resources for supporting home learning.

Objectives:

1. Focus on integrating the Cross Cutting Concepts, Disciplinary Core Ideas and Science and Engineering Practices.

2. Elementary level science practices will be modeled.

3. Participants will also focus on STEM career resources.
