You've read Mathematical Mindsets, and you love WIM (Week of Inspirational Math). Perhaps you have checked out Limitless Mind and your students are beginning to change their beliefs about mathematics,. You want to fuel the flame of mathematical curiosity, and to begin thinking about assessing learning differently!

You are ready for more and Stanford is a long way from Spokane!  Working with colleagues (teaching in grades 3-8) on this important work is exactly what you are looking for as you begin planning forward for the reopening of school in the fall. 

Join us in re-imagining what learning is, challenging learners in tasks that are open enough to spark curiosity. and big enough to incorporate multiple content and practice standards.   Participants will meet virtually for three 2-hour sessions in June, and two 2-hour sessions in August getting a jump-start on exploring rich tasks for next year.  

Along with re-imagining and planning for the future, and monitoring student growth, we'll be working on rich tasks, with an intentional focus on rich facilitation.  Participants will continue the learning journey by meeting virtually (for about an hour, four times during the year) to debrief a task looking at student responses, and by reflecting and adjusting to student growth and learning.

This professional learning will provide participants with 15 clock hours that have been approved for STEM clock hours.
