The RIGHT RESPONSE Cycle will guide you along the path to success allowing you to address the needs of the person before the next incident can occur. This cycle represents a powerful process and will work well for you - if you follow its steps: (1) Prevention; (2) De-escalation; (3) Postvention; and (4) Physical Safety/Self Protection. Critical thinking and teamwork are required elements of RIGHT RESPONSE. Only by understanding a person's behavior and its purpose can we really help them meet their needs appropriately safely and permanently. Collaborating with others ensures that we maintain a holistic perspective for our response. RIGHT RESPONSE is also based on history policy and established procedure.

1. We cannot certify attendees of zoom trainings in all of the physical safety techniques (only the ones that can be done by an individual person, i.e. the personal protection stances and such)
   1. The rest of the physical safety skills will have to be certified in person once we are allowed to do so in the late spring;
2. Right Response has provided guidance that says we are only to use Zoom trainings for recertifications, NOT initial certs;
3. There is a 6 month grace period (per RR) that applies if a participant’s certification lapses, but we hope to be able to catch everyone up in the spring.

Cancellations/Refunds
Full refund of NEWESD 101 registration fee, less $10 administrative fee, is available if your cancellation is received 5 days prior to the first class. Full refunds will be issued if the courses is cancelled by NEWESD 101.
