Join the Center for Applied Linguistics (CAL) for a Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) training or trainers workshop. 

Participants will explore research-based standards on effective professional development and adult learning. The workshops will include a variety of activities, such as demonstration and explanation, analysis of video teaching sequences, guided professional development plan creation, and small group tasks. At the end of each workshop, participants will build their capacity to plan a SIOP workshop or incorporate what they learned into their role-specific professional development activities using the Training of Trainers manual, videos, and other supplementary materials. During the last day, participants will present their own workshop plans based on their learning and plan for multi-year SIOP implementation supports through job-embedded professional development such as lesson study, coaching, and co-teaching.
