Day 1-2 Goals/Outcomes:

• Develop skills to serve in a mentoring and/or coaching role in order to promote the growth and development of novice teachers.
• Understand the importance and potential impact of skillful mentoring on the growth and development of novice teachers.
• Understand the roles and stances of mentors.
• Be able to hold learning-focused conversations and conferences that support teacher problem solving, reflection, and action.
• Conduct observations, gather data, and provide feedback to mentees.
• Provide novice teachers support in the areas of classroom management, the new state evaluation system, and professional conduct.
